Method

Bake for 40 minutes, reducing the heat to 150°C after the first 20 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 200°C.

Roll out the pastry into a 25cm by 20cm rectangle.

Heat the butter in a frying pan and cook the onion until softened.

Combine the cooked onion and sausage meat in a mixing bowl.

Place the sausage mixture down the center and cut 3cm slanted slits along the pastry edges.

Fold the pastry strips alternately over the meat and brush with egg.
