Password character picker

Banks love asking for “the 1st, 6th and 9th characters” of your password or memorable word. Paste it below, pick the positions you were asked for, and read the answer straight off.

This runs entirely in your browser. What you type is never sent anywhere, never saved, and is gone the moment you leave the page.

How it works

  1. Paste your password or memorable word into the box.
  2. Each character becomes a numbered box. They stay hidden until you pick one — use Show if you want to see the lot.
  3. Click the positions you were asked for, or type them in (“1, 6 and 9” works as-is).
  4. The answer appears in position order, whichever order you picked them in.

Where your password goes

Nowhere. This page does its counting on your own device, in your browser. What you type is never sent to our servers, never written to a log, and never stored — not even in your browser’s local storage. Close the tab and it is gone.

Spaces are counted as characters and shown as , because your bank counts them too. Nothing is trimmed — that would quietly shift every position number.
